A good-paying job in the skilled trades can open the door to a rewarding career, a bigger paycheque and more opportunity for workers and their families.
That’s why since 2021 Ontario’s PC government has invested $1.5 billion to help train more than one million workers for in-demand careers. These investments are helping more people enter the skilled trades while ensuring Ontario has the workforce needed to build the homes, highways, hospitals, schools and other critical infrastructure our growing province needs.
It’s all part of our plan to protect Ontario workers, create more good-paying jobs and help people build a better future for themselves and their families.
And those workers are going to be needed.
Over the next decade, Ontario will need more than 400,000 workers to fill skilled trades-related job openings, including nearly 75,000 workers in construction alone.
At a time of global economic uncertainty, Doug Ford and Ontario’s PC team are focused on protecting workers and creating new opportunities close to home.
That means investing in people, helping them build the skills employers are looking for and connecting more workers with good-paying careers.
